the Furtherance of my Career —Celestea Deanes

      Of all things communication is a key to improvement .  Isolation may be a requirement in the pursuit of wisdom , and knowledge a principle thing to pursue . There is a lot to be said for virtual reality , the internet and of course the library.  Resources  all , as a disabled person, a politically targeted person,  a  marginalized individual ,   I  truly love those things, I do. 

      But, for now —- I require the company of my kindred spirits.

      Durango is beautiful . But limited.  However , GOLDEN cultural opportunities including  nature, sports and native folk are here.  Recieved  love and respect as an elder  from these young people! I also already have made history on campus as an enrollee in certain programs.  Unfortunately , been victim via bias too, here, and previously in New Mexico. Won a legal action in Albuquerque that changed the fate of thousands of disabled br the way ! Of that accomplishment  I am very proud . But, the effort  cost me dearly.  The harassment involved drove me to hospital and away from that city. 

     Have you guessed that am at a crossroad..?   I have a background in STEM studies, and the arts . And in life. The local arts collections staff have let me know that there is opportunity  for me here.  I need  sponsors , fellows, and mentors. That information has caused me to consider your program.
